Operation Thunderball, which began in 2019, marks a watershed moment in the global law enforcement response to the growing threat of wildlife trafficking and environmental crime. Coordinated by INTERPOL and the World Customs Organization (WCO), the operation brought together 109 countries to combat transnational organized crime syndicates involved in the illegal trade of endangered species. This article uses a qualitative research method with a literature review that can help collect data related to the cooperation carried out as part of Operation Thunderball. It examines the effectiveness of Operation Thunderball in disrupting wildlife trafficking networks, the role of international cooperation, and the wider implications for global governance and environmental security. It also explores the challenges faced in tackling transnational crime in the context of organized criminal networks and the role of new technologies in law enforcement efforts. The success of this operation demonstrates the role of international cooperation in addressing complex global challenges. Along with collaboration between law enforcement agencies and other actors, it can foster a unified approach to global security issues and share resources more effectively
